Brainwashed

ficticious thoughts make you believe you're something that you're not

idolizing Superman thinking bullets bounce off you, til you get shot

thoughts embedded in our heads through the television

subliminal messages corrupts our childrens vision

no more inspiring the young to be lawyers and doctors

just be a sports player, a rapper, or a rocker

and in the hood they're distracted by "urban literature" shoved in their faces

designed to stereotype and make the conscious racist

and white america's brain washed told to idolize the minority

fooled into believing to glorify the ghetto story

our children trained to die while young by playing with toy guns

and when they get older it seems real bullets seem more fun

but who's to blame for the tragedy that befalls our youth

that's the question one should be asking, if you're seeking the truth.

Drugs

She claims I'm corrupted, but I know that she loves it

Perception of the public has her behaving like a puppet

Mask, she's in disguise, even contacts for her eyes

Appeals to the critics, unconsciously to no surprise

Character portrayal living a life ridden in betrayal

Success amounts to nothing, when in the end it's written that you'll fail

Back to the drawing board, sketching up a new scheme

Tricks of the trade, artist looking for a new theme

A new inspiration, a brand new vision

But still her self-esteem issues compromise her decisions

Lusting after men, idolizing all that seems to glitter

Unhappy and unsatisfied, still can't disguise the fact that she's bitter

Playing the part of a role, clearly losing all of control

No boundaries and no goals, sinking deeper into the hole

Lights grow dim, beginning from within

She thought we'd both lose, but in the end I alone win
